Brunch keeps notes about the people in your life, so the only acceptable design was one where those notes never reach us. They don’t. Brunch has no server, no account and no analytics, and the app makes no network requests at all. The detail below is the same statement, section by section.
Everything you put into Brunch — people, topics, contexts, sessions, photos — is written to files in the app’s iCloud Drive folder: a plain-text log per device and an image file per photo, in a folder named Brunch that you can open yourself in the Files app. Syncing between your devices is performed by iCloud, under your Apple account and Apple’s privacy policy; the data never touches infrastructure we operate, because we operate none. If iCloud is unavailable or switched off, the same files stay on the device. Nothing leaves your device except through your own iCloud.
The app makes none. There is no host it contacts, nothing it reports to, and no background transfer. The only network activity involved in using Brunch is iCloud Drive syncing your own files, which is done by the operating system rather than by the app.
There are none: no analytics SDK, no crash reporter, no cookies, and no device identifiers collected. We cannot see how you use Brunch, and we built it so that we couldn’t.
Brunch displays no advertisements and contains no advertising networks.
The app is built with Flutter, Google’s open-source UI toolkit, and uses one third-party plugin: path_provider, which locates the app’s own folders on your device. Both run entirely on the device and transmit nothing.
Brunch collects no data from anyone — adults or children. It is a general-audience app and is not directed at children under 13.
getbrunchapp.com is a set of static pages hosted by Netlify, whose servers keep standard access logs. The two forms on this site — support and updates — are processed by Netlify and forwarded to us; what you type in them (your email address and your message) is used only to reply to you or to send the updates you asked for, and is never shared or sold.
If we make changes to this policy, we will post the updated version on this page with a new effective date.
